For Sale

So our house is officially on the market. The sign is in the front yard and we have our first showing today. We have mixed feelings about this. First and foremost, we really want to sell our house quickly and for a great price. We've got three other homes (Bobby's mom's house and Xax's house and a rental property) that we need to worry about and it would be great if we didn't have to be so concerned with ours. However, the thought of moving into an apartment, just to move again when Bobby graduates is not sounding fun. So we're hoping beyond hope that if our home sells soon the people who buy it would be so kind and so generous as to let us rent it until we need to move. Here's hoping.

We've started packing up some non-essentials so that we're not totally overwhelmed when we're down to the wire and need to move. Let's just say that I'm even less motivated to pack when I know I don't need to. But we've made some progress: the kitchen has been cleared of everything we won't use and the attic is almost packed and ready too. At some point in the next few weeks we'll need to clear out the storage room...again. We've also started listing some of the furniture we won't be taking with us on Craigslist.

I can't wait until Bobby's done with school and we can head out into the real world, but I sure wish it didn't involve moving. I hate moving. Maybe I'd like it if we had a million dollars and could pay someone to do the whole thing for us. Yeah, that would be nice. Anyone want to donate?

Ahhh! You're almost there. I am starting to get the packing itch right now as there is a very good possibility that we will be moving at the end of June. I am not looking forward to it, but there is something that is so refreshing about organizing and getting rid of things we don't need.

And just a word of caution: enjoy those last few months of dental school! (I am the last person that likes to hear this kind of advice, but I am slowly learning it is true.) I know they are totally stressful (at least for Daniel and I they were), but never again will you live on the student schedule that is so glorious! I sure miss the time off Daniel used to have. I think he has taken a total of three days off since he started working. Two were for interviews so he was out of town anyway, and one was the day Eliza was born. Quite the change from when Maddie was born and he had FOUR weeks off!

If you are are looking for a place to lease easily, you should get a hold of Melanie Daines from the 2nd ward. They are in Pittsburgh until her husband graduates in May and their sub-let renter just bailed so they are paying for two rentals. They have a really nice apartment close to campus. Her number is 435-512-4792.
