Belated Valentine's Flowers

So, Valentine's Day was a little, shall we say, unobserved, by my dear husband. He was studying for tests that weekend, and though I shall never know, he didn't do anything for me except write me a letter and fold it into the shape of a heart while he was down in the basement studying. Sweet? Yes. Thoughtful? In a small way. Romantic? Kind of.

I had been thinking about Valentine's Day the whole week, trying to decide what to do, because I had a sneaking suspicion that Bobby wasn't going to do a whole lot. When he gets busy with school work it encompasses his life, which I'm resistently glad of, he's a hard worker and that work is going to bless our family in a few years. So I made us a nice steak dinner and chocolate covered strawberries and bought him a card and let him study, because that's what his job is right now.

Bobby assured me flowers would be forthcoming. So, finally, two weeks later I have my Valentine's flowers. I got them on Saturday and they're absolutely beautiful and sweet and thoughtful and romantic.

I'm a school "widow" right now as well, and I just have to remind myself that it won't last forever!

We don't observe vanlentines day at our house, I actually get annoyed with Brad when he buys me flowers on v-day (I worked in a flower shop for a few to many). But he always buys me roses a week later, I love getting them when everyother woman in the world isn't.

I think it's kind of fun to get flowers off-holiday. Then you're not expecting them.
