What sleep feels like...

Ruby's been with us for exactly 12 weeks today. I can't believe it's been that long. She's getting so big and so cute and chubby. She smiles like she can't stop...that little girl has a perpetual smile on her face and it's so easy to get one when there's the rare instance when she isn't smiling. She's a talker, too. Nonstop from when she wakes up to when she sleeps again. Always cooing and squealing, it's so much fun to interact with her and watch her play by herself and talk to herself.

The biggest development though is that she has slept through the night the last two nights. On Wednesday night she woke up once at 2:30 and talked to herself and fell back asleep at 3:00 and then woke up at 6:30. Then last night she slept straight through and woke up at 7:00. It was glorious! Now, I didn't get a full night's sleep, what with listening to her talk the first night and then waking around 5:00 very uncomfortable because she hadn't eaten in so long. Let's just say it's not a pleasant feeling when you're breastfeeding and the cute little milk-drinker in your life hasn't relieved you for 8-9 hours. But it was great being able to just lay in bed and be blissfully lazy. I'm hoping for another great night tonight!

I'm so happy she finally slept all the way through for you. Just give it a couple nights, then you'll be able to sleep clear through it, too ;)

Yay, Ruby! The sleep outweighs the discomfort any time!

WHOO HOO!!! Isn't it an amazing feeling. like you almost forgot what it was like to sleep. Soon the lack of sleep will be a distant memory (thank goodness). And very soon the discomfort will go away too and you will sleep as blissfully as little miss Ruby :)
